ABOUT US
2008 marked the official 60th anniversary of tourist guiding in Canterbury - and the end of the year marked the start of a new era, as the city guides formed their own company and changed their name from the Canterbury Guild of Guides to the more modern Canterbury Tourist Guides Ltd.
Tours by our knowledgeable city guides have continued uninterrupted since 1948, with the Guild receiving support first from the Chamber of Trade, then the Tourism Department of the City Council, and for the last 26 years from a local business.
Under their new banner the guides continue to provide the same high quality service which a few years ago won them a Special Tourism Award. Holding the Canterbury Green Badge, delivered after completing a rigorous training course, they all love sharing their passion for the historic treasures of Canterbury with visitors and residents alike.
